A scarcer example of an Army kyu-gunto sword measuring 35 1/2" overall with a 25 1/2" blade. The blade has a straight hamon and a gilded brass habaki. The nakago has 2 mekugi-ana but no signature. There is one seppa below the tsuka. Gilded brass tsuka with a pierced guard and 10 petal cherry blossoms on the ears of the backstrap. There is also a silver mon on the top of the tsuka. Wire wrapped white same grip. Plated iron saya. CONDITION: Blade has some staining and needs a good polishing. Tsuka shows light average wear. Saya shows some oxidation. (02-24443-1/BF). $250.450.
