Superb example of a WWII German Kriegsmarine dagger measuring 16 5/8" overall with an etched 10" blade. The blade is etched with foliate and nautical motifs and is marked near the hilt " ORIGINAL (squirrel) Eickhorn SOLINGEN ". Gilded brass crossguard and eagle pommel with a wire wrapped white composite grip. Gilded brass scabbard with the oft-seen lightning bolt motif. CONDITION: blade is stunning. The remainder of the dagger shows very light wear but the scabbard shows a light shallow dent or two. (02-27516/BF). $800-1100.
