REVOLVER. Cal. 36. S# 316630. Bbl. 3 1/2". Pocket Navy single action percussion revolver mfg. by Colt in 1869 (appearing to have been serialized in sequence with the Model 1849 Pocket). Top of the rnd. bbl. is marked with Colt's 2-line address. Left side of the frame is marked "COLTS/ PATENT". Rebated cyl. is roll engraved with Colt's stagecoach hold up scene. Brass trigger guard and rear grip strap. Brass bead front sight and hammer notched rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame, trigger guard, rear grip strap, and bbl. Cyl. has been renumbered to match at one time. Grip is absent. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: vintage wood display case featuring a purple felt lined interior and containing x1 key. CONDITION: metal components have faded to a gray patina, exhibiting scattered handling marks and spots of light surface oxidation and pitting overall. Bore exhibits a consistent scattering of mild to moderate oxidation and pitting, while retaining good, albeit worn rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Case shows scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. Underside of main body retains large areas of a black leatherette material. Interior shows some fading and mild wear, but otherwise remains very good overall.
