RIFLE. Cal. 22 LR. S# 3227. Bbl. 28". Model 52 bolt action target rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1925. The left side of the bbl. is marked with the model designation, followed by the Winchester trademark logo, and the cal. designation, with Winchester's 2-line mfg. and patent information marked on the right. Right side of the receiver is electro-penciled "01271782 SK", with touch up blue in corresponding area. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. 1-piece single band fastened and finger grooved wood pistol grip stock with checkered steel buttplate. Toeline of stock and underside of bbl. band feature sling swivels. Stock appears to have been lightly sanded and revarnished. Dovetailed blade front sight with peep ladder rear sight in large rear dovetail. Bolt is unnumbered. MAGS: x1 blued steel 5-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting several scattered patches of wear and thinning that are fading to gray patina, some superficial handling marks, as well as some spots of light surface oxidation. Top of chamber area exhibits a streak of wear that shows through to silvering. Bolt body has largely faded to gray patina and silvering from operation. Mirror bore, exhibiting a few small scattered spots of light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Stock shows scattered superficial marks and small impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound and presents nicely.
