ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 44. S# 8501. Bbl 6" round. Semi-circular front sight. Both sides of bbl. have inspector initials "H". Round six shot cylinder. Blued finish with case colored hammer, trigger & loading lever. One piece walnut grip has cartouches on both sides. Butt has hand carved initials that appear to be "HP". About 23,000 mfg. late 1850s-early 1860s. CONDITION: metal retains scattered spots of remaining blue. Grips show wear with marks dents and chips. Properly functioning action. Bright bore has strong rifling. (01-29380/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,250
