Cal. 34. S# 151. 8.75"overall, 3.9" octagonal barrel, top flat of frame: "ALLEN & WHEELOCK", bar hammer: "PATENTED APRIL 16, 1845", double action, 5-shot roll engraved cylinder. This was Allen's first revolver retaining many characteristics of the pepperbox production, varnished rosewood bag grips. Revolver housed in red velvet lined mahogany casing fit with 2-cavity 34 caliber mold, ebony & steel loading tool, brass powder flask, loose balls, cap tin, and functional case key. CONDITION: very good overall, matching S#s, complete & original, barrel retains 60-80% thin blue finish, frame & cylinder are bright, cylinder has full crisp cylinder scene. PROVENANCE: ex-Paul Henry collection. (01-28115/JS). ANTIQUE. $1,200-1,800.
