Cal. 44. S# 1153. Bbl 8" octagon with concealed threads. Top flat is marked "BEALS PATENT SEPT. 14 1858 / MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTONS ILION N.Y." Cone style front sight. Round 6 shot cylinder without safety stops. Double wing style cylinder pin. High spur hammer. Blued finish with brass trigger guard. Major parts have "P" or "C" inspector marks. Walnut grips, right panel has weakly visible cartouche. Approx. 1900 mfg. 1861-1862. CONDITION: metal has a faded gray appearance. Trigger guard retains faint traces of silver finish. Grips have an age darkened appearance with some deep marks. Both panels have intentional cut notches around the butt. Action is tight and functions properly. Lightly pitted bore retains sound rifling. (01-29353/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,200-2,000.
