Cal. 58. Fitted with a 40" bbl dated "1864" with "V/P/EAGLE" proof. Replacement globe front sight. Correct flip up rear sight. The bbl is held by 3 split iron bbl bands. Lock is marked "1864" behind the hammer and "U.S. / COLT'S PT F.A. MFG. CO / HARTFORD CT". Unmarked oil stained walnut stock with faint inspector cartouches remaining. CONDITION: metal has turned to a mottled brown/grey patina with some oxidation surrounding the bolster. Stock is hand worn with some scattered handling marks and heavy dents.
