232 page Hardee's tactics, vol. 2, printed Louisville, KY 1861, illustrated, fold out plates, inscribed on inside cover "W J McKinney / Co I /2nd Reg ARK / Nolan Texas", also inscribed on 2nd flyleaf "Wm. James McKinney / of Bradly County / Arkansas". William James McKinney (1830-1880) born in Georgia, was master carpenter with 3 slaves in Bradley County Arkansas in 1860, buried in Pine Bluff. McKinney was Commander and Colonel of 2nd ARK Inf. CONDITION: very good overall, slight water stained edges, appears intact and complete, bit shaken, good binding, ink inscription blurred, pencil inscription very good. PROVENANCE: Dr. Reggie Van Driest collection. (02-27151-7/JS). $400-600.
