INSPECTED REVOLVER. Cal. 44. S# 140033. Bbl 8" round with German silver blade front sight and New York address. Round rebated 6 shot cyl has Texas Navy Scene roll engraving. Cyl & bbl have "A" or "D". inspection marks. Blue & case colored action with brass trigger guard. Bbl, frame, trigger guard, back strap, cyl. & wedge have matching numbers. Walnut 1 piece grip. Butt of left panel has hand carved letter "F". Mfg. 1863. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: proper belt with brass Federal Eagle buckle Eagle buckle having nickel trim. Belt holds holster, cap tin, cartridge box & shoulder strap. Belt and accessories are age hardened with a dark appearance and show considerable cracking. CONDITION: metal has faded to brown with spots of light pitting. Cylinder retains nicely visible roll engraving. Trigger guard retains faint traces of silver finish. Grips show light wear with dents at butt and a long chip on the left panel along the back strap. Properly functioning action. Some action screws are replacements. Lightly pitted bore retains intact rifling. (01-29360/DS). ANTIQUE. $2,250-3,500.
