Cal. 25-20 W.C.F. S# 404744. Mfg. 1907. It is fitted with a 20" carbine bbl with a iron block riser with pinned bead front sight and carbine adjustable leaf rear sight. It is marked with the late bbl address "MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. / NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A. PATENTED OCTOBER 14, 1884" & "25-20 / W.C.F." cal marking. The forearm is held in place with a single carbine bbl band. The saddle ring straight grip frame is marked on the top tang with the second style bbl address "MODEL 1892 / -WINCHESTER- / TRADE MARK". The carbine stock set is terminated with a smooth steel carbine buttplate. CONDITION: overall good. The bbl has 50% of its original blue with the balance of the thinning finish turning to t brown patina with some small spots of pitting and dings. The mag retains 80% of its original blue with some scattered handling marks. The frame retains 50% of its original blue with carry wear, ring rub, & some spots of old oxidation. The stock set has been lightly sanded. The forearm has a few dents & dings, but remains sound. The butt some minor edge chips, heavy handling marks and a few gouges. Dark bore with pitting. (26-180/ZAL). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
