ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 22 Long. S# 361537. Mfg. 1890. This example is fitted with a 24" octagon bbl with dovetailed German silver sporting front sight and semi-buckhorn sporting rear sight. It has the later 2-line bbl address "WINCHESTERS REPEATING ARMS. NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A. / -KINGS IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29/ 1866. OCTOBER 16. 1860-" & "22 Long" cal marking. The stepped rec has a dust cover with a serrated edge, integral dust cover guide rail and 2nd style "MODEL.1873" upper tang marking with foliate accents. Rifle forearm and straight grip stock set with smooth crescent steel buttplate (no trapdoor). CONDITION: overall fair. The bbl and mag tube have some thinning finish in the protected areas with the balance turning to a brownish patina. The rec has a cleaned grey patina with scattered dents. The stock set has been lightly sanded. The forearm has a minor edge chip and scattered light handling marks. The butt has more edge chips with scratches and handling marks. Nice shiny bore with decent rifling. (01-28770/ZAL). ANTIQUE. $2,000-3,000.
