CARBINE. Cal. 44 HRF. S# 21289. Bbl. 20" w/ mag. band mounted front sight & non-adj. carbine leaf rear sight. Full length mag. Brass action w/ saddle ring on left side has extensive aftermarket hand engraving. Engraving features foliate scroll w/ punch dot backgrounds having checkered designs around upper areas. Carbine forearm & straight grip walnut stock w/ brass trapdoor crescent rifle buttplate & sling swivels. Mfg. 1869. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: three piece cleaning rod held in stock compartment. CONDITION: metal finish has faded to gray. Action has a light patina appearance w/ an area of green verdigris near forearm. Sanded & refinished stocks show scratches & marks. Sound action. Lightly pitted bore retains largely intact rifling having a small ring behind the front sight. (01-26420/DS). ANTIQUE. $3,000-4,500.
