RIFLE. Cal. 220 Swift. S# 22901. Mfg. 1939. Tapered 26" barrel w/ ramp mounted hooded bead front sight & filler in rear dovetail. First model action w/ cloverleaf tang, clip guide, wave matting on top, & hinged floorplate ; additional D&T on top of barrel & receiver appear for claw mounts. Matching numbered bolt having claw extractor & first type safety. Standard checkered walnut stock with swivels & checkered steel buttplate. CONDITION: barrel & receiver have factory quality refinish showing prior pitting, pinprick oxidation & cycling wear. Lightly sanded & refinished wood shows scattered handing marks & plug repair to top of comb. Balance of rifling very good with wear around throat. PROVENANCE: From the Lifetime Collection of Malcolm Zickler, Ret. USAF Lt. Col. (26-862/MD). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
