Cal. 6.5 Jap. S# 37862. Bbl. 31 1/2". Blade front sight without protective ears. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2400m. Parts have mixed numbers. Receiver ring has mum with Kokura over stamp & additional Kanji character.. Left side of receiver has Kokura, 20th series symbols, serial with 00 prefix. Blued finish with strawed small parts. Asian hardwood stock set with two piece butt, bottom mounted sling swivels & original leather sling. Underside of wrist has strong Kanji stamps & right side of butt has two rack numbers on stamped & other painted. Cleaning rod present. CONDITION: stock set retains strong Urushi finish with a few gouges, scattered dings, handling marks & some finish loss. Metal retains 50-60% original blue with floorplate & bottom metal turning gray, scattered oxidation, handling marks & fading to brown. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Very good bore with strong rifling. PROVENANCE: Military Museum Collection of Shooters Outpost, Hooksett NH. (26-2308/MJC). CURIO. $800-1200.
