Lot 2406 WWII GERMAN AFRIKA KORPS UNIFORM GROUP.
This extensive and impressive group includes a khaki green cotton 5 button tunic with 4 flap pockets featuring a light blue and tan pair of Army Private collar tabs, matching white piped cotton shoulder straps and a light blue and tan breast eagle. The heavy cotton canvas belt has a steel olive green painted Wehrmacht buckle and supports 2 black leather 3 pocket cartridge pouches as well as a canteen with cup, bread bag, gas mask canister with mask, a second canteen and trenching shovel with scabbard, potato masher grenade, Mauser K98 bayonet with cotton web frog. Supporting the belt is a cotton canvas Y strap with a camouflage shelter half. Accompanying the tunic is a pair of cotton herringbone weave green pants, a pair of desert goggles and a pair of 15 1/2" high Afrika Korps boots. The uniform and its ancillary pieces are displayed on a full length mannequin that is included with this lot. CONDITION: all items show expected wear with no undue damage. The uniform shows overall light wear. Boots also show light wear. (02-26226/BF). NON-GUN. $3,500-5,000.
