Cal. 8mm (Mauser). S# 8908h. Bbl. 23 1/2". Blade front sight without hood. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2000m. Bolt parts & floorplate are mismatched but remaining visible numbers are matching. Uncommon German issue rifle made in Hungary during WW2. Receiver has "jhv 43" code. Blued finish. Walnut stock with left side sling provisions. Stock has very faint German & "jhv" inspection stamps. No cleaning rod present. Underside of forend has carved "X". CONDITION: stock set appears lightly saded with added oil finish, scattered dings, scratches & handling marks. Bottom metal is proud of wood. Metal is mostly a gray patina with some dings on bottom metal, scattered oxidation, handling marks, oxidation & traces of original blue. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore is dirty with some pitting but has strong rifling. PROVENANCE: Military Museum Collection of Shooters Outpost, Hooksett NH. (26-2579/MJC).
