Cal. 8mm Mauser. S# 2444a. Bbl. 22". Standard K43 sights. "(Eagle)/359" marked Bolt carrier is matching but oddly lacks a suffix. AC45 coded K43 rifle. Phosphate & blued finishes. Mismatched replacement laminated stock set that has been post war renumbered to match on right side. Right side of butt has faint added party symbol. Left side of butt has faint 359 inspection stamps. Left side sling provisions with leather sling & replacement in-the-white cleaning rod. MAGS: 1-10 rd. aye coded & G43 marked. CONDITION: sanded stock set shows a small laminate crack at toe, a notable gouge on left of forend, scattered dings & handling marks. Metal retains 40% original blue & phosphate with overall thinning to gray most heavily on bolt carrier, scattered edge wear, some light oxidation & handling marks. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Very good plus bright bore with strong rifling. PROVENANCE: Military Museum Collection of Shooters Outpost, Hooksett NH. (26-2300/MJC). CURIO. $4000-6000.
