Lot 2362 RARE CHINESE MARKED INGLIS MK.I* SEMI-AUTOMATIC
PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 4CH4260. Bbl. 4 5/8". MK.I* semi-automatic pistol mfg. in Canada by Inglis under contract for the Chinese Nationalist military. The left side of the slide is marked with 2 Chinese characters above "MK.I*" and "BROWNING FN 9MM HP INGLIS CANADA". Right side of the frame and slide exhibits Canadian proofing. Metal components exhibit a black enamel type finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Slotted frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black synthetic grips. Dovetailed blade front sight, with tangent rear sight, graduated 50-500. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, and bbl. MAGS: 1 parkerized 13-rd. mag. with split tail floorplate, marked "JI" (upside down) on the front of the body. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: page of notes from Charles Wagner detailing this Mk.I* variation. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their black enamel type finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, with varying degrees of pitting present overall. Bore is bright, exhibiting consistent light to mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips show scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Charles Wagner. (25-391/MLW).
