Lot 2331 HIGH CONDITION WALTHER "EAGLE/C" POLICE MARKED

MODEL PPK SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 1005019. Bbl. 3 1/4". Model PPK semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Walther, circa. 1938-1939 for German police use. The left side of the slide is marked with the Walther banner logo, followed by markings stipulating Walther's mfg. information, as well as the model and cal. designations. Left side of the frame is marked with an Eagle/C German police proof. Right side of frame (on chamber), slide, and bbl. exhibit a German Crown/N commercial nitro proof. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the chamber, which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with a 1-piece Walther banner checkered mottled brown synthetic grip. Slide features a grooved matte rib, with a fixed blade front sight and fixed U-notch rear sight. Slide matches the slide via "019", which is lightly etched on the interior, parallel to the ejection port. MAGS: 1 7-rd. mag., with mottled brown synthetic grip extension. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some light to mild wear and thinning (primarily on edges), some scattered superficial handling marks, as well as a few spots of light surface oxidation. Right side of slide exhibits a small concentrated spot of mild pitting. Mirror bore, exhibiting scattered spots of light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grip shows some smoothing to the checkering and some scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, with a crack present on either side that stems from the screw slot.
