^Lot 1409 JAPANESE KATANA AND ARMY DRESS SWORD.

1) Japanese shin gunto katana measuring 41" overall with a 28 3/4" blade featuring a straight hamon. Gilded brass habaki with 3 seppa above and below the classic 4 cherry blossom gilded brass tsuba. The nakago has three mekugi-ana indicating use of an ancestral blade and shows no signature. The tsuka has a matching fuchi and kabuto-gane. White same with brown tsuka-ito and brass 3 cherry blossom menuki. Metal saya with brownish painted finish. CONDITION: blade shows 2 sword strikes on the left side and other battle scars.Tsuka shows wear but remains solid. Saya shows light wear with minor finish loss. 2) Japanese Army dress saber measuring 34" overall with a 27 1/2" plated blade with a faux hamon. Gilded brass hilt with wire wrapped hardwood grip and a plated scabbard. CONDITION: light wear overall. (02-25643/BF). NON-GUN. $600-900.
