Cal. 7.65mm. S# 402049. Bbl. 3 3/8". Model 38H semi-automatic pistol mfg. by J.P. Sauer & Sohn for German police use. The left side of the slide is marked "J.P. SAUER & SOHN, SUHL" above "CAL. 7,65", with "PATENT" marked on the right. Left side of the forward trigger guard web is marked with a German police Eagle/C proof. Right side of the frame, slide, and bbl. exhibit an Eagle/N commercial nitro proof. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the alloy trigger, which exhibits a dull gray coloration. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black synthetic grips, the left panel featuring Sauer's "SUS" monogram. Slide features a solid matte rib, with an integral blade front sight and dovetailed U-notch rear sight. Slide matches the frame via "049". MAGS: x2 8-rd mags. One mag. exhibits an unusual circular stub on the right side. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: unmarked brown leather holster, exhibiting a handwritten "JON KRUTZ" on the interior of the closure flap. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some spots of light edge wear, a few patches of light wear and thinning, as well as some superficial handling marks overall. Right side of slide exhibits several patches of light to mild pitting above and to the rear of the serrations. Mirror bore, retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, to include the cocking / decocking lever. Grips show scattered marks from handling and storage, with some light marring present at the forward bottom edges of each panel. Right grip exhibits a crack stemming from the screw slot that runs to the rear edge of the panel. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting some scattered handling marks, light to mild age-related cracking, as well as some spots of discoloration. (26-45/MLW). CURIO. $1200-1600.
