Rogers, while flying en route from Takhli, Thailand to Long Tieng, Laos, carrying fuel and ammunition, crashed into a mountain due to bad weather, killing everyone on board. He had flown numerous missions for the Air America, which was operating for the CIA. The Air Medal is inscribed "Huey D. Rogers" and is accompanied by a War Department memo from Robert Patterson and the original medal's case. CONDITION: overall very fine. (02-26336/ZAL). NON-GUN. $200-300.
