RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 444306. Bbl. 26". Barrel is marked behind front sight "W / flaming bomb / 9-18". Ladder rear sight graduated to 1,600 yards. Front sight with protective ears. All major parts markings on this rifle are "W" including the stock tip. Receiver has two "eagle head" markings on top of left rail and "flaming bomb" on outside of left rail. Walnut stock set. Stock is unmarked except for "W" at tip. CONDITION: stock set has extensive wear, staining and handling marks throughout with its arsenal rework type finish. Metal retains 50% of its original worn thinning blue. The upper band and front sight have a worn blackened appearance. Bore has shine and strong sharp lands with the beginning of frosting in the grooves. (26-1343/RW). CURIO. $500-800.
