Cal. 30-06. S# 3074788. Bbl. 24". Barrel is marked behind front sight "RA / flaming bomb / 6-42". Ladder rear sight graduated to 2,850 yards without volley notch. Sight base made without lightening cuts. Blade front sight with protective cover. Bolt with swept handle marked "NS". Fine checkered milled trap buttplate. Milled rear swivel. Remington stamped small bow trigger guard. Stamped lower band. Milled upper band marked "R". Stacking swivel, screw and band retaining screw are not present. "S" type straight grip walnut stock. Stock is marked on right side with "RRA / C" indicating arsenal rework at Red River Arsenal. Two boxed "P" proofs under grip. CONDITION: stock with arsenal rework refinish has been heavily sanded with considerable loss of wood. 1" crack behind receiver tang. Replacement handguard is proud of the top edge of the buttstock. Metal retains 75% of its worn thinning arsenal rework finish. Very good shiny bore with sharp lands. PROVENANCE: From the Lifetime Collection of Malcolm Zickler, Ret. USAF Lt. Col. (26-757/RW).
