^Lot 1084 U.S. SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1898 KRAG BOLT-ACTION

MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-40 Krag. S# 273124. Bbl. 30". Model 1901 ladder rear sight graduated to 2,000 yards. Blade front sight. Walnut stock set. Stock has worn but visible boxed "JSA 1899" acceptance mark. Encircled script "P" proof under grip. Buttplate with curved toe. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 11 3/4" fullered blade bayonet marked "1898" on the left ricasso and "US" on the right ricasso. Left side of crossguard carries "19". Bright blade with spots of oxidation turning gray and patina. Balance of metal has notably more oxidation, light pitting, tool marks and patina. Grips are worn, but serviceable. CONDITION: stock set has wear, dents, scratches and staining throughout with additional finish applied. Forend has notable crack and abrasion area between magazine and right grasping groove. Notable 1" cracks on both sides of buttplate and small crack behind receiver tang. Metal is turning overall dark patina with oxidation and fine pitting throughout.
