WILLIAM TECUMSEH SHERMAN. Attractive folio document nicely signed "W. T. Sherman" Oct. 1, 1862 at Memphis, TN. Document also signed by Col. Thomas Kilby Smith, who would soon become a brigadier general. CONDITION: exposed 10.5" x 7.5" section of document is fine, not removed from frame to see how attached, frame measures 18" x 14" with steel engraving of Sherman as full general. (02-26381/JS).
