Complete 42-rd. box of No. 56 (.56-56 Spencer) ammunition mfg. by Crittenden & Tibbals Manufacturing Company in South Coventry, Connecticut. Top of lid features a label marked "42/ METALLIC CARTRIDGES/ FOR THE/ SPENCER & JOSLYN CARBINE,/ NO. 56 Navy and Infantry Size./ MANUFACTURED BY/ CRITTENDEN & TIBBALS MF'G CO.,/ South Coventry, Conn., U.S.". Box contains six individual 7-rd boxes of ammunition. CONDITION: box is good, showing light to mild overall wear, with scattered spots of age related discoloration. Lid appears to have been repaired on each of the right corners, with a tear present along the lower edge of the label. Interior boxes each exhibit some separation at edges, save for one box, which remains sealed. Ammunition is all present, exhibiting lead carbonate on projectiles, with cases exhibiting age related discoloration.
