Lot 3259 RARE IVER JOHNSON ECLIPSE DERRINGER.
Cal. 22. S# 11889 (beneath bbl. at breech area). Bbl. 2 1/2". Eclipse derringer mfg. by Iver Johnson and believed to have been marketed by James Bown & Son. Left side of the bbl. is marked "ECLIPSE", with no other identifying markings or proofs. Frame and bbl. exhibit a nickel plated finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece bird's head grips. Bbl. matches the frame via "89". CONDITION: frame retains the majority of its original nickel plated finish, exhibiting some small scattered spots of flaking. Bbl. retains good amounts of its original nickel plated finish, exhibiting scattered spots of flaking, with areas of wear fading to gray patina (most notably on edges of the breech section). Bore exhibits consistent mild pitting and scattered patches of moderate pitting. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show scattered superficial marks and a few impressions, but otherwise remain sound.
