Lot 3216 POST-WAR COLT OFFICIAL POLICE DOUBLE ACTION
REVOLVER WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 38 Spl. S# 837490. Bbl. 4". Official Police double action revolver mfg. by Colt in 1955. Left side of the bbl. is marked with the model and cal. designations, with Colt's single line address marked on the right. Left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with apparent replacement 2-piece Colt gold medallion checkered wood grips, which are slightly oversized. Standard fixed blade front sight and square frame notched rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame and cyl. crane. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black leather holster marked with a "4" and Jay-Pee trademark logo on the rear of the belt loop. Interior of closure flap is marked "34" in apparent white paint. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting streaks and patches of wear fading to gray patina (primarily on sides of bbl. and on cyl.), scattered superficial handling marks, as well as scattered spots and patches of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting. Sides of hammer have faded to a dark gray patina. Near mirror bore, exhibiting some scattered spots of light to mild pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips are very good overall. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting general overall wear and superficial handling marks, with age related cracking and some scattered spots of light to mild crazing present overall.
