MODEL REVOLVER. Cal. 45 Colt. S# S734. Bbl. 7 7/16". Spurious Single Action Army Cavalry Model revolver assembled with a variety of later production parts on a first generation black powder frame. Top of the bbl. is marked with Colt's single line address. Left side of the frame is hand engraved with Colt's 3-line patent information, followed by a spurious U.S." stamp. Left side of the trigger guard is engraved ".45". Frame and hammer exhibits reapplied case colored finish, with remaining metal components exhibiting a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with a 1-piece plain wood grip, exhibiting spurious cartouches and "U.S." stamps. Thinned blade front sight with frame notched rear sight. Bullseye ejector rod head. Spurious reapplied S# "S/ 734" is present on the frame, cyl. trigger, guard, and rear grip strap. CONDITION: frame and hammer retain fair to good amounts of their reapplied case colored finish, exhibiting fading and scattered patches of light pitting overall. Blued parts retain large amounts of their blue finish, showing areas of wear and light pitting overall. Very bright bore, exhibiting some spots of light pitting and some spots of hardened grease, while retaining deep well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, although the action is missing 1 click. Left side of frame exhibits a crack at the recoil shield. Grip shows heavy wear, with scattered superficial handling marks and impressions overall. (01-28737/MLW). ANTIQUE. $800-1,200.
