Cal. 22 S, L, LR. S# 559282. Bbl. 20". Model 06 slide action rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1919. Left side of the bbl. is marked with Winchester's 2-line mfg. and patent information, followed by "-MODEL 06.", with the cal. designation marked towards the breech. Bbl., breechblock, hammer, and trigger exhibit a blue finish overall. Grooved wood forearm with sanded and refinished plain wood straight grip buttstock with Winchester checkered black hard rubber buttplate. Standard dovetailed blade front sight with screw fastened U-notch rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the upper and lower assemblies. CONDITION: receiver, action slide, and mag. tube have primarily worn to a gray patina, exhibiting scattered spots and patches of light pitting and age related discoloration. Receiver and rear of bbl. exhibit scattered scratches. Bbl., breechblock, hammer, and trigger retain the majority of their original blue finish, exhibiting some superficial handling marks and scattered spots of light surface oxidation. Bright bore, exhibiting a consistent scattering of spotted mild pitting, while retaining good to strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Forearm shows wear to its finish, with scattered marks from handling and storage. Buttstock exhibits scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, areas of cracking to the varnish, as well as a notable section of (seemingly) intentionally removed wood on the right side of the wrist.
