Lot 3111 EARLY POST-WAR WINCHESTER MODEL 94 LEVER ACTION
CARBINE. Cal. 30 WCF. S# 1038881. Bbl. 20". Model 94 lever action carbine mfg. by Winchester in 1947. Left side of the bbl. is marked with the model designation, followed by the Winchester trademark logo, and the cal. designation, with Winchester's mfg. information marked on the right. Plain wood forearm and straight grip buttstock with black synthetic spacer and red rubber recoil pad. Pinned Lyman blade front sight (bead absent), with dovetailed and screw fastened slot blank in rear dovetail, and a receiver mounted Redfield adj. aperture rear sight. Left side of the receiver is drilled and tapped with a black anodized aluminum scope mount. Half-length mag. tube. Upper receiver tang exhibits an added screw, forward of the Winchester trademark logo, with the rear screw being an improper replacement. CONDITION: metal components retain traces of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning overall that has faded to gray patina, as well as scattered spots and patches of light to mild surface oxidation. Bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots of light pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. Recoil pad has deteriorated. (26-1741/MLW). CURIO. $400-600.
