Lot 3105 PRE-WAR WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 LEVER ACTION SADDLE

RING CARBINE. Cal. 30 WCF. S# 830755. Bbl. 20". Model 1894 lever action saddle ring carbine mfg. by Winchester in 1918. Left side of the bbl. is marked with Winchester's 2-line mfg. and patent information, with the cal. designation marked towards the breech. Upper receiver tang is marked with the model designation above the Winchester trademark logo. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall. Plain wood forearm and straight grip buttstock with steel carbine buttplate. Pinned blade front sight with dovetailed Marbles U-notch buckhorn rear sight. Left side of the receiver features a saddle ring stud and ring. Upper receiver tang exhibits an extra added hole and screw. CONDITION: metal components retain fair to good amounts of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear fading to gray and brown patinas, scattered superficial handling marks and dings, spots and patches of light to mild oxidation, as well as light pitting beneath the bluing. Fair bore, exhibiting consistent mild pitting, while retaining fair rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows numerous marks, dings, impressions, scratches and gouges overall, with the forearm exhibiting a chip on the left side and a large crack on the right side. Buttstock exhibits a crack on either side of the wrist that stems from the receiver, as well as 2 cracks stemming from from the upper receiver tang. (26-197/MLW). CURIO. $600-900.
