Lot 3101 WINCHESTER MODEL 92 LEVER ACTION SADDLE RING

CARBINE. Cal. 25-20. S# 961247. Bbl. 20". Model 92 lever action saddle ring carbine mfg. by Winchester in 1926. Left side of the bbl. is marked with the model and cal. designations, with Winchester's mfg. information marked on the right. Sanded and refinished single band fastened plain wood forend and straight grip buttstock with crescent steel buttplate. Pinned blade front sight (rear sight absent), with "M.S.A. Co." marked Marbles tang mounted flip-up aperture rear sight. Left side of the receiver features a saddle ring staple (ring absent). CONDITION: metal components retain traces of their original factory blue finish, with the balance having faded to gray and brown patinas, exhibiting scattered spots of oxidation and age related discoloration. Bbl. and mag. tube exhibit streaks of an apparent hardened grease or oil. Top of bbl. retains a patch of bluing, beneath where the rear sight was mounted. Bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots of light to mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. (26-152/MLW). CURIO. $500-800.
