Cal. 22. S# 2576A. Bbl. 2 3/4". Round blade front sight. Fixed rear sight. Bbl. marked "WHITNEYVILLE ARMORY, CT, USA/PAT. MAY 23.1871". Only 3500 of this model were produced in different variants. 7-shot wide cyl. Nickel finish. Brass frame. Yellow colored grips. CONDITON: right grip panel has an old repaired crack through screw hole, grips otherwise show some handling marks & age related wear. Metal retains 50% nickel with overall flaking showing brass underneath, scattered oxidation, handing marks, light pitting & age wear. Action appears functional when hand cycled. Bore shows pitting along its length but evident rifling. PROVENANCE: Rock Island Auction 6/28/2009 Sale Lot 2220. (01-28083/MJC). ANTIQUE. $300-500.
