METALLIC CARTRIDGE/PERCUSSION POCKET REVOLVER. Cal. 31/32. S# 3151. Unique design with cylinder which chambered 32 caliber rimfire or threaded chambers for percussion nipples. About 1000 made in serial range 2300-3500. 9" overall; 4" octagonal barrel marked "J.REID N.Y. CITY / PAT'D APL 28, 1863", spur trigger, burled walnut grips. Made 1863-1865; advertised in wartime publications offering to Union soldiers as new innovation. CONDITION: very good overall, complete & matching, traces of finish, gray/brown patina overall.
