M70-D TELESCOPE AND AMERICAN FLAG. No.1: The M70-D Telescope is a 3x power direct fire optical sight produced during WWII and primarily used in the M5 Stuart Light Tank and M8 Greyhound Armored Car. OD green finish. Marked at mid-point "TELESCOPE M70-D / No.9477 / 1943". The telescope has a reticle with a fine crosshair and range markings between 400 and 1,200 yards. Telescope has external wear, oxidation and numerous areas of flaking paint. Reticle is discernable, but lens has extensive spider-web lines and black flecks. There is an aluminum canteen with black cover marked "JAPAN". Accompanied by its green canvas cover. This canteen was likely sourced from Japan to service in the Korean War. / U.S. marked WWII era canteen cover with partly legible unit markings on the bottom. / Ephemera includes a Protestant Episcopal armed forces prayer book dated 1951 and United States of America War Ration Book forms and cover dated 1942. Also included is a U.S. Ensign flag with 48 stars approximately 5' x 10'. CONDITION: canteen and covers are in well-used condition with fading and handling wear. Ephemera has light staining and wear, but is generally legible. Flag has light wear and fading. (02-27031/RW). NON-GUN. $200-400.
