Lot 2495 PRE-WAR COLT WOODSMAN SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL.
Cal. 22 LR. S# 80527. Bbl. 6 5/8". Woodsman semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Colt in 1931. Top of the bbl. is marked with Colt's 2-line mfg. and patent information, with "THE WOODSMAN" marked on the left side of the frame at the breech. Left side of the slide is marked "COLT", followed by "AUTOMATIC/ CAL. .22 LONG RIFLE" and the Rampant Colt logo. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece apparent checkered black hard rubber replacement grips, molded from an original set of wood grips, showing wood grain on the interior surfaces. Pinned blade front sight with adj. square notch rear sight. MAGS: x1 reproduction blued steel 10-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some spots of light edge wear, some spots of light surface oxidation, as well as a few light superficial handling marks overall. Grip straps exhibit areas of thinning that are gently showing through to a gray/brown patina. Mirror bore, exhibiting a couple of small scattered spots of light pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show some superficial handling marks and small chips (appearing to have been present on the original grip set that this set was molded from), with scattered air bubbles / pockets. Left grip exhibits a small crack stemming from the top of the panel. (26-1002/MLW). CURIO. $500-800.
