Lot 2307 DEUTSCHE WERKE MODEL 1 SINGLE SHOT BREECHLOADING
RIFLE. Cal. 22 LR. NSN. Bbl. 22 3/4". Model 1 single shot breechloading rifle mfg. by Deutsche Werke circa. the 1920s-1930s. Top of the bbl. is marked "DEUTSCHE WERKE - WERK ERFURT", with the cal. designation marked on the left, and with a German eagle proof and Crown/U proof marked on the underside (repeated on left side of breech). Top of the hinged breechblock is marked with the encircled Deutsche Werke logo above "Mod. I". Front of stock forend tip is marked "7260/ j". Metal components exhibit a blue finish. 1-piece plain wood rnd. knob stock features checkering at the wrist, a brass or copper Deutsche Werke logo inlaid on the left side of the butt, as well as a flat plain steel buttplate. Toeline of stock features a sling swivel and stud with the bbl. featuring just a swivel. Unmarked period brown leather sling. Raised bead front sight with U-notch rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain trace to fair amounts of their original factory blue finish, with the balance having faded to a brown patina, exhibiting some light superficial handling marks overall. Bore is bright, exhibiting scattered spots of light pitting and 2 patches of mild to moderate pitting towards the muzzle, while retaining good to strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Stock exhibits scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. (26-1743/MLW). CURIO. $150-250.
