Description: A morning hunt for Sage Grouse and trout fishing in the afternoon. Sage Grouse season is very short so hunt is scheduled for September 21st 2026.
Half day Sage Grouse hunt then ½ day float on the GREY REEF section of the North Platte River (2 angler’s)
? Water and transportation from Casper. Guests will need to purchase Wyoming Fishing and required hunting licenses.
? Guests will be expected to bring sunglasses or eye protection, rain jacket/pants, fishing hat, waders/boots/sandals (if wading desired) 5–6 weight rods and reels.
? Hunters must provide their own shotgun and ammunition.
Grey Reef is our largest stretch of water totaling around 80 miles in clear water conditions. The famed stretch between Grey Reef Dam and Lusby Access is where we do most of our fishing. Dam-Lusby is our most consistent fishery and is friendliest for all skill levels. Grey Reef also produces the largest fish in the entire Platte drainage.
Central Wyoming is home to the largest population of Greater Sage Grouse in the nation. The Greater Sage Grouse presented as a unique hunting opportunity as it is the rarest upland bird in North America, don't miss out on this special hunt.
