Lot 1591 R. Famage Mauser .35 Whelen #F27677
A sporting rifle chambered in .35 Whelen and built using a "R. FAMAGE" marked Columbian Mauser action dated 1952. The receiver, floorplate, and trigger guard have a blued finish. It is fitted with an approximately 24 1/8" tapered in-the-white sporter barrel. The rifle features a turned down bolt handle, large flag type safety on the rear of the bolt, internal box magazine with hinged floorplate, smooth curved trigger, sling swivels, solid serrated recoil pad, & 13 1/2" LOP. The receiver, trigger guard, and floorplate retain approximately 25% of their blued finish showing general contact wear, and scattered scratches. The barrel shows some scattered external rust. The action is sound, the bore is dirty with strong rifling. The stock is good with normal handling marks, a chip on the right side of the buttstock area, and the rubber recoil pad has a small chunk taken off of it. This rifle comes with Weaver mounts and rings, and topped with a Simmons 2-10x44 'Whitetail Classic' scope with a duplex reticle.
