Lot 1072 Miriam Haskell Amber Necklace & Vintage Purse.
The necklace is signed, featuring double strand natural honey colored amber graduated beads with brass spacers and fancy floral clasp with cut glass centers. Miriam Haskell (1899-1981) designed costume jewelry often worn by Hollywood elite with partner Frank Hess from 1920 to the 1960's. Her vintage items are highly collectible and the namesake company continues today as Haskell Jewels LLC. Measures 8" from drop with a 3 1/2" dangle of 7 amber beads down the back. The purse is a 1940's Guild Creations purse made of black faille or wool outer with dual handles of same. The black satin lining with one pocket is in perfect condition. Has ornate silver-toned metal clasp with small cut bead decorations. One piece of metal is slightly loose and one handle has tiny separation at seam, otherwise purse is in overall very fine condition. Maker marked "Guild Creations" in lining.
