Lot 1002 Enfield No. 2 MK I .38 S&W #C5843
WWII production British military DA/SA break barrel revolver chambered for .38 Smith & Wesson, manufactured circa 1943 in Enfield, England. Pistol features a matte blued finish, 5” slab sided barrel, raised screwed in partridge front sight, notched rear sight on the barrel latch, smooth curved trigger, automatic ejection, external hammer with checkered spur, firing pin on hammer nose, six-round fluted cylinder, smooth front strap, serrated backstrap, lanyard ring at butt, and two-piece serrated black plastic grips. Barrel, cylinder, and frame have matching serial numbers 'C5843.' The right side of the frame is marked with 'Enfield 1934,' 'No.2 MK1,' the crown, and 'R.A.F.' (the Royal Air Force). The original blued finish retained is approximately 90% with edge wear, and light scattered scratches. Metal displays no rust, but there is deformation in some of the screw slots, some heavier nicks, and the edge of the muzzle shows some deformation on the right side. Bore good showing some frosting with strong rifling, and the cylinder chambers are very good, but need to be cleaned. Plastic grips are very good condition with light scattered scratches, and small nicks on the serrations. Action is smooth and crisp with a tight lock-up.
