^Lot 960 DWM / IA Co. 1908 'Brazilian' 7mm Mauser #1218

Brazilian Military contract bolt action rifle chambered in 7x57mm Mauser manufactured in Germany, and imported by Inter-American Import Company from Sacramento, CA. It features a blued finish, an approximately 29" barrel, raised dovetailed inverted 'V' front sight, tangent rear sight graduated to 2,000 meters, bayonet lug, in-the-white bolt with straight handle, three-position 'flag' type safety, smooth curved trigger, internal 5 round box magazine, two barrel bands with a 'H' style front, sling swivel on rear barrel band, and stripper clip guides cut into the receiver. Some markings include the Brazilian crest on receiver ring along with "Mod.1908" on the right side, and "DEUTSCHE WAFFEN-UND MUNITIONSFABRIKEN OBERNDORFa.N." on the receiver rail. The wood furniture consists of a smooth handguard, smooth metal buttplate, and a near full-length semi-pistol grip shoulder stock with a smooth forend. The inlayed brass disc has a number three on it. All observed serial numbers match. Rifle retains approximately 88% of it's original blued finish showing scattered edge wear, scratches, barrel bands turning brown, and thinning around the receiver. Action is smooth and crisp. The bore is dark and frosty with strong rifling. The crest is sharp, and the wood is very good with scattered minor scratches and dings.
