Lot 953 Hi-Standard Model H-D Military .22 LR #198114
'Model H-D Military' an American made semi-automatic single-action rimfire pistol chambered in .22 Long Rifle, manufactured circa 1947 in New Haven, CT. Even though this pistol is dubbed 'Military,' it was not manufactured for the military. This is pretty much a copy of the 'Model H-D' with an external safety. Manufactured from 1945-1950, there were approximately 143,000 produced. Pistol features a gloss blued finish, 6.75" heavy round barrel, serrated fixed blade front sight, dovetailed micrometer adjustable notched rear sight (fully adjustable with elevation screw), serrated external manual safety, checkered slide stop lever mounted on the right side of the frame, 'type-II' takedown with a right-side frame mounted lever that has a knurled round pick-up, serrated heel magazine release, external hammer with checkered spur, and two-piece checkered walnut grips. The original blued finish retained is approximately 80% with thinning on the grip straps and barrel, scattered edge wear, and light scattered scratches. Metal displays some small spots of scattered rust, and some small nicks on the bottom of the barrel. Bore is bright with strong rifling and the action is smooth and crisp. Grips are very good condition with some minor wear, and a low spot on the checkering on the bottom of the right grip panel. The rear sight can be moved side-to-side by hand.
