Lot 857 Miroku / Charles Daly Superior Grade 12 Ga #S55289

Japanese made over and under box-lock shotgun chambered for 2 3/4" 12 Gauge shells. Miroku made Charles Daly shotguns from the late 1960s to the early 1970s. Superior grade shotgun, featuring a blued finished 28" ventilated ribbed barrels, fixed chokes marked for & measure Full / Mod, steel bead front sight, steel mid-bead, selective ejectors, single curved smooth gold-toned inertial trigger, checkered top lever, and serrated sliding tang safety and barrel selector. The high gloss walnut furniture consists of a semi-pistol grip shoulder stock with checkering at the wrist, checkered grooved forend with Deeley latch release, long lower tang, 13-1/2" length-of-pull, 1-3/8" drop at comb, 2-1/4" drop at heel, black grip cap with white spacer, and a brown solid rubber Decelerator recoil pad. The receiver displays limited coverage floral scrolls, and edge designs. The engraving extends to many of the small parts including the top lever, trigger guard, sides of the top barrel, and on the forend parts. Receiver, forend, and barrels all have matching serial numbers, '552890.' The original blued finish remaining is approximately 98% with light scattered scratches, and light edge wear at the muzzle and triggerguard. Bores look excellent and bright, and the action is smooth with tight lock-up & the top lever resting centered. Furniture wood is good to very good with a scattered nicks and dings on the buttstock, a nickel size patch of finish loss on the right side of the buttstock, and some finish losses on the handguard edges where most are on the buttstock. The metal shows a couple small spots of pitting along the barrels left side in front of the forend. The grip cap is showing some delamination. Condition is NRA Good.
