Lot 854 U.S.F.A. Mfg Co Single Action .45 LC #13762
Replica of the Colt 1873 "Peacemaker," a single-action revolver chambered for .45 Long Colt, parts imported by United States Patent Fire Arms Mfg. Co.(USPFA) form Hartford, CT. Revolver was built in the United States using Uberti parts. USPFA was founded in 1993 and eventually sued by Colt for using the word 'Patent' in the business name. In consequence, USPFA became the United States Firearms Mfg. Co. (USFA). These early pistols with the patent marking in the address line were only made for a couple of years and are coveted by collectors. Manufactured circa 1994-1995. Revolver features a blued 5.5" round barrel, fixed blade front sight, notched frame rear sight, thin smooth curved trigger, fluted six-round cylinder, collard cylinder pin head, 'screw' cylinder pin retainer, firing pin mounted on hammer nose, checkered hammer spur, bullseye ejector rod button, smooth grip straps, and single-piece smooth hardwood grips. Barrel, cylinder, trigger guard, and grip straps have a gloss blued finish, while the frame and hammer have a color case finish. The color-case finish may be a coating rather than a metal treatment. The original blued finish retained is approximately 98% with only superficial scratches. The color-case finish is very good with no observed handling marks, but it appears that a small amount of the finish has peeled, or flaked off. Metal displays no rust or deformation. Wood grips are excellent, and the action is smooth and crisp with a tight lock-up. Bore is bright with strong rifling, and the cylinder chambers are also excellent. Pistol includes original black cardboard box with paperwork.
