Lot 731 Colt 1851 Navy .36 Cal #26601

'The Authentic Colt Black Powder Series' brings a 2nd generation reproduction of a six shot .36 caliber blackpowder percussion cap revolver originally manufactured circa 1851-1873 in New York, NY. It features a 7.5" barrel, brass bead front sight, 'V' notched hammer rear sight, smooth walnut grips, smooth curved trigger, and a checkered hammer spur. A blued finish was applied to the barrel, and cylinder. The frame, hammer, and loading lever are color case hardened. The square-backed triggerguard, and backstrap are polished. This pistol has all the correct original Colt markings being a one-line barrel address, naval scene on cylinder, the patent marking on the frame, and partial serial on the bottom of the backstrap. There are matched serial numbers on the barrel, frame, triggerguard, backstrap, and cylinder. The action is crisp and tight. The bore and cylinder chambers are excellent. The grips are also in excellent condition. The blued finish is about 98% with small spot of rust on the face of the muzzle, and some very light superficial scratches. The color-case hardened parts retain 99% of their finish, and the polished parts are excellent. The markings are crisp and clear, and the action is smooth and tight. It comes with the factory box, instruction manual, and other paperwork. This firearm is in excellent condition minus the one rust spot on the muzzle mentioned earlier.
