^Lot 702 E.M. Reilly & Co. Baby Martini .44-40 Win #24083

E M Reilly & Co. Baby Martini single shot sporter chambered in .44-40 Winchester manufactured in the 1882 in London. It features a 26" barrel, a checkered top rib, 2 folding rear leaf sights, a checkered curved trigger, and a silver bead front sight. The right side has a checkered lever safety, and a tear-drop shaped cocking indicator lever. It is engraved "E.M. Reilly & Co." and "16 NEW OXFORED ST. LONDON" on the top of the barrel. The two-piece furniture has a fully checkered semi-pistol-grip stock, and engraved metal buttplate. The receiver has an engraved matte pattern. The original blued finish retained is approximately 94% with very little edge wear, a rectangular spot on the bottom of the barrel from an absent sling eye, thinning, and some superficial scratches. The metal exhibits light spots of scattered rust. The action is smooth and locks tight with no play or wobble. The stock is very good with no cracks or chips, and only has a few small dents. The length-of-pull is 14 5/8", and the bore is bright with strong rifling.
